We are continually amazed about how God is at work in our church! And that work couldn’t occur without the helping hands of all our volunteers! One of which is Amber! She can be found serving around the church on our Children’s Ministry Team, Worship Team, and Fundraising Team. She even heads up our yearly Trunk or Treat! We’re thrilled we got a moment to ask Amber some questions, so you can get to know her better!
*How long have you been at The Remnant? What brought you to The Remnant?
I have been at The Remnant for 5.5 wonderful years!
I was originally brought to The Remnant by someone else, just to visit, because I was asked to come. I came from a church that I had been at since I was 2 years old, so I was hesitant to come into a new space.
However, God knew that I needed The Remnant, because it was a perfect fit, it felt like home right away. Our pastor had to slow me down, because I wanted to become a member after my second visit.
The deep love, the true family, the intense accountability, and the truth that’s preached week after week, is what has made The Remnant my forever home.
*How is God speaking to you lately? What is God teaching you?
God has been teaching me about my own pride lately. He’s been showing me that even in moments when I think that I’m being honest and vulnerable, I still have these shreds of pride in myself that don’t allow people to love me well! My pride will always lead me to hiding from those who love me!
“A person’s pride will humble him, but a humble spirit will gain honor.”
Proverbs 29:23
God has also been leading me through my struggles with my anxiety. He has been my rock and my calm space when my seas feel like they’re out of control. God always comes through for me, even when I am in the midst of a panic or a break down.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14
