Meet The Remnant - Blake Castle

You may recognize this guy as the bass player on our worship team, but he's much more than that. You can always find Blake around the church, not just because he’s one of the tallest guys at The Remnant, but because he is almost always serving, leading, and loving on everyone at the church. Blake leads our youth group, Rise Youth, and he has a blast being able to hang out with the kids and just experience life with them! He also serves on our Connections Team, Children’s Church Team, and the Cleaning Team! We’re excited to let you get to know more about Blake by sharing the interview we had with him!

*How long have you been at The Remnant? What brought you to The Remnant?

I first came to The Remnant 6 years ago, and then I’ve been a member for almost 5 years now!

Originally I was invited by someone, and then the standing joke is that I came and went during softball season! But what got me to stay was the truth that is always preached and the closeness and real community that is here!

*How is God speaking to you lately? What is God teaching you?

He’s been really hitting me lately with how I need to trust Him and believe it’s all real!

The Bible, God, Jesus. It’s all real. I haven’t always lived that way. I lived a lot of my life believing that the stories in The Bible were only that, stories. But they're not, it’s all real and it’s all true! God moves every day, Jesus really was who He said he was, and The Bible really is the Word of God! And if I believe that, then I have to also believe that I am who He says I am. I’m loved, I’m a king, I’m a co-heir with Christ, and I am a son of God!

He’s been showing me a lot of stuff about myself, and it’s not all fun stuff, and how I can be better! He’s also been encouraging me a lot as well! When I read The Bible it seems to just go along with what I’ve been experiencing or thinking. All the little random moments of encouragement have really helped show me what’s important in my life!
