Around The Remnant we joke about Denise always running late because she’s always on the go. But one things she’s rarely late to is giving someone a huge smile and a hug. She serves on our meal team, cleaning team, and our fundraising team, Divine Ops. And she’s always down for some good community—although she’ll probably tell you she’s running late to it!

*How long have you been at The Remnant?

I’m going on year #3 at The Remnant. And to believe that I haven’t been here longer than that is crazy. I have gained so many meaningful relationships and realized so much in the past few years that I would not have on my own.

*What brought you to The Remnant?

Real Talk Live! And the later service. I am not a morning person if anyone knows me. I just loved how I could grasp things and apply it to my daily life. I feel like my family is in a better place!

*How is God speaking to you lately / what is God teaching you?

God is really showing me to push into those areas of arrogance that I have made over the years and really get out and talk about Him more!I have went to God and others to ask more questions about the areas of arrogance. The honesty from everyone has really brought light to the rooms of darkness that I have, and I just feel like I’m not carrying as much weight. I would say that my L.A. womens group has helped me to bring out areas that I need to shed light into, but also the sermons preached on Sundays. God truly has a way of speaking through others!
