Meet The Remnant - Kris Doub

Everyone meet Kris! He may not be a man of many words, but that’s how you know the words he does say are valuable and important! Kris is one of the most talented men you’ll ever meet, but you would never guess it because he is so humble, and he doesn’t go around telling the whole world what he does. And that humility and talent arejust some of the things that make Kris such an amazing addition to The Remnant family!

*How long have you been at The Remnant?

I've been attending The Remnant for about 4 years and what a ride! From somewhere around 40 or so people to now over 100, and the ride is not over yet.

*What brought you to The Remnant?

Actually my son brought me to The Remnant. He asked if I would consider playing on the worship team. I was not attending at the time but thought I would go a few times to see what I thought about the church. They addressed some hard issues that not every church would tackle and they did it based on what the Bible taught. Sometimes that is hard to find nowadays when most churches have the "feel good" mentality.

*What is your current role at The Remnant?

I serve on the worship team as an acoustic/electric rhythm guitar player. I also build projects for the church such as wood working gifts for Baptism Sunday. I also have helped with constructing the pulpit, signs, and stage props used in special services. I am also helping with input on the sound mixing for the live stream we do on Sundays. I'm just very pleased to give my creative talents back to the Lord who has given me so much.

*How is God speaking to you lately / what is God teaching you?

The last couple years my family has had medical issues beyond the normal things. I'm being taught the value of prayer above and beyond the prayers during the times when you think you need something from God. Prayer on a daily basis is not hard, it does not need to be a religiously wordy time, it is simply a time to talk to God one on one from the heart and it can be done any time and anywhere. Prayer is a cry from inside that simply says "I cant do it on my own. I give it to you God and I will accept the outcome because you know what is best for me." While I feel I've grown in this area I also acknowledge that I have more to learn about prayer and other areas of my life. Being open and listening is important. I feel I learn more listening than I do when I try to tell others what I know.
