Meet The Remnant - Sierra Singleton

We absolutely love Sierra, and The Remnant wouldn’t be the same without her! Not only does she serve on our connections team and children’s church team, but she also leads our cleaning team! Some of our “behind the scenes” ministries, like the cleaning team, can go unnoticed, but we couldn’t do this without them. We’re so blessed that Sierra uses her talents to serve God and make a difference for the Kingdom!

*What brought you to The Remnant? How long have you been at The Remnant?

My best friend invited me! I’ve been here for 4 1/2 years! And I haven’t left because it’s my family. The community is a big thing I didn’t have at my previous church. And like real community. Not just seeing each other on Sundays, but actually talking to them and talking about real things during the week.

*How is God speaking to you lately / what is God teaching you?

Biggest thing lately is I need to obey regardless of what other people are doing! A lot of it is in my marriage. My call doesn’t matter on my husband. I need to be respectful and submissive! Also in calling out my sisters in Christ to be respectful as well even if it was uncomfortable. Being intentional in my words and actions.Another thing I’m working on is that my emotions shouldn’t be controlling me. Because then I’m acting out of whatever I’m feeling in the moment and that becomes my truth. Even if it’s the farthest from truth! For me, I can work on this by taking a step back from situations and journaling out what I’m feeling, then rationally see the situation.
