Through the Eyes of a Child

Gratitude.

Something that always surrounds Thanksgiving. Gratefulness. Thankfulness. Gratitude.

Sometime it feels like something said, but not done.

The holidays always seem filled with stress. Where do we have to be when? What do we have to bring? Is there drama that we have to deal with?

Where is the gratitude? Where is the thankfulness in all that?

It's so easy to get caught up in the schedule and having to be places at the right time that the holidays are way more stressful than relaxing. God didn't call us to live in that stress, and honestly it can take a lot of enjoyment out of the holidays.

Having a kid now, I've been really appreciating seeing events through a child's eyes. She doesn't care if we are there on time, she doesn't care what's going on, as long as she gets to eat and just be there, she's happy. Such a simple approach, but one I think is good to take.

Just a reminder to be grateful this year for what God has given us—the family, friends, food and shelter we have is what some people only wish for.
